What is AVROS
AVROS is a focused space built around a single body of work in painting.
Instead of isolated pieces, everything here is organised as one coherent system that unfolds over time.
• Long-term series instead of single, disconnected works
• Originals held and released gradually, not all at once
• Editions, fragments and objects as different entrances into the same space
• Direct connection between studio, gallery and collector
Forms of presence
Series
AVROS is organised into long-term series such as PRESENCE A, ARCHAIC, ALTERITAS and CLEAR.
Each series explores one core state across many works and formats.
Originals
Original paintings form the source of the system.
Some are held in the studio, some placed with galleries and curators, and selected works are released to collectors over time.
Editions & Reproductions
Editions and reproductions open the space to a wider circle.
High-quality prints and other edition formats allow the works to enter everyday environments while keeping the originals rare.
Fragments & Art Objects
Fragments and object-based works carry the same signal in smaller, precise forms.
They function as anchors — compact ways to live with the work in daily life.
PRESENCE A
A series centred on presence as a quiet, stable force.
One essence held in different states, surfaces and scales.
ALTERITAS
A future series dedicated to otherness and the unknown.
New works entering the space in 2026.
ARHAIC
A series that looks toward the archaic — not as nostalgia,
but as quiet structures that keep surfacing in the present.
Coming March 2026
Behind AVROS
AVROS is the work of artist Alexandra Ros, based in Vienna.
Each year a small number of paintings are completed — usually no more than twelve. Each piece develops slowly over one to three months, and some continue for a year or more before they are ready to leave the studio.
The choice is to remain largely unseen, so that the works and the spaces they create stay central — not biography, not narrative. What matters here is how the paintings live in time, in rooms, and in the lives of those who collect them.
