Vessels of Time / VOT-26-012 / Original Artwork
The work explores the vessel as a timeless structure rather than an object. Instead of depicting archaeological artefacts, the painting investigates how matter holds duration and memory.
Layered contours and ovoid cavities emerge gradually from darkness, forming a field of repetition, weight and quiet movement. Each vessel becomes a threshold rather than a container.
Created through Alexandra AVROS’s subtractive and revelatory painting process, the forms are uncovered through removal, abrasion and the exposure of underlying layers.
